The film opened to a dismal start…
Sonakshi Sinha starrer Noor opened to a meagre Rs 1.54 crore on the first day of its release. According to senior journalist Taran Adarsh, the film which released on 1450 screens, need a major jump over the weekend to leave a mark, if at all, at the box office. He tweeted, “#Noor has a dull start… Fri ₹ 1.54 cr [1450 screens]. India biz… Needs a major jump over the weekend to leave a mark.”
The disappointing collections were expected considering the mixed to negative reviews and the dismal start it has received at the box office yesterday. Our trade sources had revealed that, “Noor has opened to an occupancy of 20-30 per cent across India.” Sonakshi Sinha’s last solo outing, Akira opened better than Noor, and that opening itself was low. So the film really has to show major growth in coming days to have a respectable figures at the end of its run at the box office.

Talking about the film, Sonakshi perfectly essays the role of Noor- an accident prone journalist suffering an existential crisis. She has a great support from the supporting cast, including Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar, Purab Kohli and Manish Chaudhary. Based on the book Karachi, You’re Killing Me!’ by Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz, the film has been directed by Sunhil Sippy.
In case you were still figuring out if you should watch Noor or not, you should read Movietrends’s review. Our film critic gave the movie 3 stars rating and wrote, “Noor has its flaws, and it certainly isn’t this year’s Queen, if you really want to get into comparison mode. But Noor still manages to endear to you with its light-hearted, fresh treatment and Sonakshi Sinha’s winning performance, if you don’t attach too many expectations.”
