It so happened that when The Kapil Sharma Show completed 100 episodes, the channel instructed Kapil Sharma, the host of the show to thank everyone including Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar. According to a report in DNA, the channel specifically asked him to take their names, but Kapil went against them and instead said, “Aaj humare show ka sauva (100) episode hai, humare sab darshako ka shukriya, sabhi celebrities, poori team-on stage and back stage, jo log humare saath hai aur jo nahi bhi hai, unn sab ka shukriya…” well! Doesn’t this speak volumes about Kapil’s equation with others? I mean, on one hand we come across these Facebook posts where he was apologising Sunil for his rude behaviour on the plane, and on the other hand we come across such reports which make it hard to believe that Kapil’s behaviour towards Sunil and others has changed.
Recently when the show completed 100 episodes, Sunil was asked to comment on the same where he said, “I was in 92 of those 100 episodes. And so what if I missed out my century by eight runs? If Sachin Tendulkar only thought of centuries he wouldn’t be the legend that he is. I don’t want to sound arrogant. I am happy I did those 92 episodes of the show. I carry beautiful memories of the experience. Now it’s time to move on.”
For those who don’t know, Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover had a massive fight while they were returning from Sydney last month. While on flight, Kapil abused Sunil in front of the entire team leaving co – passengers in shock. Ever since then, a lot has happened. Kapil posted a public apology on Facebook, Sunil responded saying how hurt he was and immediately quit the show. Moreover, the stand – up comedian has already moved on. In an interview with DNA, Sunil recently opened up about how he has no regrets whatsoever leaving The Kapil Sharma Show. “No regrets as such, because I am working non-stop. My mother never had to ask, ‘Beta, tu kaam par kyon nahin jaa raha hai?’ This break from television has given me a chance to do some serious live shows. I love the live synergy. Right now, as we speak I am in the middle of a performance in Baroda with Sunidhi Chauhan. The audiences’ response is overwhelming. Watching them, I know I wouldn’t have to sit at home even if I didn’t do television,” he said.
Following him, Alia Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar too quit The Kapil Sharma Show.
